While the USD Economics Council has nominally been around for a number of years, it was finally launched as an official club in the Fall Semester of 2010 thanks to a lot of hard work by Cole Gabaldon, Lauren Whitney, Edward Hickey, and a number of other dedicated students.
The Econ Council aims to create an open forum for economic discussion, based on the knowledge that economics is more than just a simplified analysis of supply and demand... it has a strong influence on our daily lives and has theories that can be applied to a wide spectrum of topics.
Currently, the Econ Council is working to establish itself so that it may continue to grow in years to come. We are constantly working to reform our constitution and create structure so that the Council may continue to serve both current students and alumni for years to come. Among other things, we have recently established a group on LinkedIn so as to promote networking between students and alumni.
